Anyone know Cake PHP? I am trying this nice framework out at this moment. And I have to say. In the beginning you really need to get used to it. But when you understand how this framework works. It is really nice to work with.

set is not really come from Ruby on Rails because Ruby on Rails use different types of vars. Set actually like how smarty (php) pass data to the template.

Save is how ruby works yes. Because all models represent a record in the database (like Entity in EJB). You can easily set all the data in the model and tell it to save (commit). beside ruby java EJB's Entity Manager works this way to.

Also the advantage of this framework is the structure of your application. Like I told CoolQQ before for his Java game it is really important to make the structure good. Because of this framework you are forced to work with MVC (Model-View-Controller). This way it keeps your code really clean (the business logic and html are keep separate).

Thanks for your explanation!  I am really interested in giving it a try.  But I will need some time to learn the framework first.  Hopefully will have time to do so before summer!
