my lecturer need us to do an assignment using FPGA...i really donno what is that..can some1 exlpain..the title is do a traffic light .

I also didn't know what FPGA is.  But I have done a few searches on the web, and it looks like it is some kind of chip that allows you to implement logical functions (those AND, OR, XOR...etc.).  The full name is Field-programmable Gate Array.  

It depends on where you are, traffic light in US have the following sequence: red, green, yellow, and then back the red.  So I guess you want to program it with a counter and timer that will trigger the lights to be on and off?  

Haha.. I better stop before I start to make things up.  Maybe others can provide more information.  What subject is this?
