電腦中有兩個硬碟，分別分割成四個 partition C、D、E、F drive，C 及 D 在同一硬碟，E 及 F 在另一硬碟。在 C drive 重裝 Windows 後另一硬碟的 E drive 變成 unformatted，而 F drive 仍然是可讀的。請問該如何拯救 E drive 中的資料？

(註：已裝 Service Pack 2, 試過將硬碟放在另一台電腦仍然是 unformatted)

當你重裝WINDOWS, 你係REFORMAT C:後先重裝? 還是直接重裝? 好大可能係以前分partition時, 你係用patition magic等software, 所以重裝後便變成unformat

it sound like when you resintall windows, you try to un-partition C: drive, but you also un-partition E: drive as well.  If you do it right when you install windows, non of the drive should have this problem.  So now you don't use that drive, look for some program that can restore the partition for you to get back data.

What are the file systems of your old drive C, & E, before the reinstallation? If they were NTFS for the C and Fat32 for drive E, chances are when you intend to format or delete the old drive C partition before reinstall windows, the Format utility application show you the drive E with the name d:\C, because they are dos applications which can't see the NTFS partition and just treat the first Fat partition as drive C to cause you delete the wrong drive, that's why your dirve E disappear and turn to a unformat partition after the reinstallation of windows. If you haven't written any data or try to format that partition after the deletion, find a good data recovery program which should help you retreat over 90% of the lost datas. Ontrack has a very good one you can try but price isn't cheap.

Usually, I would disconnect the slave HD before re-installation of Window.  This would safeguard all data stored in the slave HD even if things go wrong.  After re-installation of Window and if everything works well,  switch off the computer and re-connect the slave HD.  Switch back on and your computer should detect the added new harddrive.  Go to 'My Computer', you should find your C,D, E & F drives.  If you have one optical device like DVD drive installed, then your computer might name the two drives on the slave HD, F & G drives.  All data in the slave can now be retrieve safely.  Good luck!
