Hi all,

I was wondering if there is any freewares online which is capable of converting itune mp4 audio file to a regular mp3 audio file? or there is other way to get it done....

I found a few promotional ones that would only partially convert the mp4 file, unless you purchase their products...

Am not too familiar with itune, but you can try this:

Download and install this:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/3ivx.htm

Then go find a copy of Goldwave, and install. You can get it as a trialware from the official Goldwave site:
http://www.goldwave.com/release.php

Once above are installed, open the mp4/m4a file with goldwave and then goto file>save as>(choose mp3 as the saving format).

hmm...just had the two things installed, unfortunately, no luck...

I was able to open the mp4 file in GoldWave and saved a mp3 file, but no sound on playback of the saved mp3 file....

cool, thx egg, let me give those a try.

A member history9a told me a trick.  If you can't find the right software, maybe you can give this a try:

Burn the mp4 audio on a CD-RW as CD audio.  And then rip the mp3 off the CD.  Of course you may use a CD-R, but you will waste it.

I found that an interesting idea.

thx mickey, hmm...that's not a bad idea, as long as Apple itune doesn't have some sort of protections to their m4p audio file....will give it a try.

u can use a virtual cd drive, like daemon tools or alcohol, then u don't have to waste a CD, and also protected copyright files can still be done using this way

Just went through the procedure in itune, unfortunately it is a protected file.
