I need to convert mp4 to dvd / mpeg. what software can do that? and do you have the software?

When the mp4 splitter is registered, any converter/encoder will be able to read mp4 files.

after i downloaded it, it only have  MP4Splitter.ax

Put that splitter in Windows system32 folder, then click Run:

I have software to read mp4, but all I want is to convert MP4 to MPEG2 wor. what is the best software to do that? and Do i need a crack?

MP4, MKV, AVI are all "contianers". Which mp4 can also be a codec. These containers can store different type of video and audio streams.

For instance, AVI can contain xvid or divx or x264. MKV can have xvid, x264, rmvb...etc.

When windows encounters one of these containers, it first needs to read it by locating a splitter which understand the format.

While some softwares has its internal splitter which can read such formats may not be registered by Windows. It will trigger the internal decoder once the file is opened through its software. For example: Videolan

So by registering the splitters manually, you ensure that Windows will acquire the proper decoder when requested.

Now your mp4 file can be a Quick Time or AVC x264 or whatever codec, most likely you already have those installed on your computer if you ever installed any codec packs.

The only thing Windows now need to know is how to open the "container". When the container's splitter was registered, Windows can open it and search for the proper codec of whatever the type of file inside that container and point it to the application which wants to use it. (The application<the converter you use> will now know how to read the format and start decoding the codecs within)

BTW, have you install the splitter? If you did, have you tried to convert with your favorite converter? Does it work?
