flora, I understand. beside joint accounts I also have account only with my name, and Minnie has her own accounts too, but those are not 私己, so basically "household" account is a concept, it means no matter where the money are, it belongs to the household.  Is that how your parent manage the finance?

all 4 of us has our own payroll acct...and after payday will withdrawn and move into my parents household acct to pay all debts

to us is "of coz".....

to his wife....depends on her mood and no such "of coz" thing.....

flora, let's just talk about between your parents, say, they each have his/her own account, are those considered their own money, or 大家冇計呢?

My parents also have one account only.  From my point of view...I believe if you pick the right one...and you believe that he/she can stay with you at the rest of your life.  I am sure everything should be 冇計

yeah, my point is, it does not matter how many accounts there are, whether they are joint or single holder, if the couple trust each other and share the same view and same spending habbit, there should not be "his money" or "her money".. and when they were asked how much money they have, they should answer "we have $xxxx", not "he has $xxxx and she has $yyyy".  

but if, for example, one of them cannot control his spending and always overspent, then separate the finance is a good way to keep things under control.

no their own money......only have my sis or my money in our own acct.....
