Once I start and logon to the xp, it goes to hibernate/standby mode automatically.
but if i run it in safe mode then it wont enter hibernate/standby mode. even if i start the comp. and i dont logon it wont enter hibernate/standby mode as well. i tried to format the comp. and reinstall the xp but it wont solve the problem. i tried install centos, it works but i need xp for my work. anybody knows how to solve the problem?

XP在安裝後的原本設定是開啟了休眠功能的，你須要將此功能關閉；
在桌面空白位Right click，選擇內容，在螢幕保障裝置一頁click電源，再在電源配置一頁，關閉系統待命和系統休眠。

i tried that, if i disable the hibernate mode it goes standby mode even i select the "do nothing" option there.

幾時有呢個問題? 出事前做過乜? 例如有無install hardware?

呢個情況好大可能係某driver/application corrupted, 你可以login入safe mode, 理論上 windows system files 無問題, 可以係safe mode內執行system restore. 但建意你執行system restore前, 留意power supply, cooling fan等是否運作正常!

我試過system restore 唔得先至format 重裝window..
張wireless lan card 我都拆番出黎..
重裝完都係唔得..
應該唔關hardware 事..
因為用run linux 完全冇問題..
開xp 果時如果唔login 都冇事架~
係login 之後就即死..

即係你部機有2個OS, 1係windows, 2係linux?

有無試過只係裝windows, 其他全部唔裝? 即係連lan card, printer, scanner .... 等全都唔駁埋電腦?
你情況好似係某agp/pci/pci-e/usb device/printer等接觸不良, 當一有電到o個個device時, 就令windows出錯

不如唔用跟機的recover disk, 又睇下係咪同一問題?!
如果都有同樣問題出現, 咁你應該call services

i tried to use a recover disk from the other comp. which is from HP.
it works but without any driver installed. then i tried to use the acer's recover disk again and the problem comes up again. then i just give up. and turn it off. i just turn it on today(4 days after), when i turn it on, the monitor display no signal but the comp. is on. i waited for around 15 mins, the comp. suddently restart then display a msg saying that there was a serious error and ask for restart the comp. again. After i restart, everything goes back to normal. so, all i need to do is to switch it off for few days and turn it on again to solve that problem?????? anyway, problem is solved, thx for u guys help.
