i have a lot of friends and they just carry permit they don't even are PR or canadian    but they still go back to their country once or twice a yr and come back to canada    no problem with them   

i can't see why i cannot go back to HK      and i have my land paper and my work permit

Long time ago...my visa friend....he came back from HK.  But custom didn't let him in.  Because his visa will expire in 2 months.....Well....are they wrong?  50 50 la.

MT, your case is a little different because when u applied, you were in Canada already, so you were doing what they call "adjust status".  If you applied outside of Canada, then using the "land paper" should have no problem because that's how you officially enter Canada as a PR.

Well...i think shouldn't have any problem to back to HK.  I will suggest you to ask more information from some pro about this case.  But I totally not agree to go to State at this moment.  If you have your land paper, and work permit....I also can't see why you can't go back to HK.  I just worry about that your immgra case...for some reason...it takes too long.....just a little worry and risky.
