my chinese word processing is terrible. so I will keep to english. plse pardon me. I want to watch movies on my PC include thise on RVMB format on the TV. Anybody know or suggest what hardware and software to use??? thnx for help.

No problem.  Most members and moderators here understand English.

RMVB should be able to be played using Real Player from http://www.real.com .  Make sure you get the free player.

Another option is to install appropriate codec packs that will allow you to play RMVB in Windows Media Player or Media Player Classic.

As for hardware, I am using an on-board 64MB video card, on a Pentium 4 machine with 512MB RAM.  And the video are playing fine.

I am sure others can give you more info..  

The problem is that I can only play the movie on the PC and cant
transfer the image onto the TV in the living room. Is there some hardware + software that I can use that I can see anything on my PC in the bedroom to the TV in the living room? thnx. help much appreciated

well ... if your bed room is very close to live room, or you don't mind see the cable on the floor, then you just need to get a "PC-to-TV' box and connected to your PC and TV. e.g: http://www.tigerdirect.com/appli ... 9832&CatId=1430

if you cannot using wired, then you need to gat a wireless media player. e.g: http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=318&sec=0

Yeah, like ultraegg stated, it depends on whether you want to go for the wired or wireless solution.  For wired solution, some people use a video card that has S-video output, and connect that to the TV s-video input (if there is one).  But the audio will have to be connected separately.
