That's interesting thought and quite logical.  If that is true, then the next question is "why the island has such power and what else can it do?".  I guess we will have to find out from later episodes whether or not that is the case.  

This is a good question!  But seems start from season 1...I feel the island's power is starting to test human's mind.  The power digs out all characters' fear, uncomfortable, worry, greedy, ugly side's history and etc from their mind.

i don't think so   when they found the hatch  they tried so hard to open it   however  it cannot be opened

at the end of episode 21   sayid asked locke to bring him to the hatch

ben, you still have the old ones?  that's what I do, I have season one on my desktop hdd so I could go in and rewatch some parts just for this discussion.  I have to get ready to load season two because MT will start that soon.

I converted and burned them on DVD.  Well....then I think i should start season 2 to chase your guys.  Ha Ha Ha.
