The first episode of KBS 2TV's 'Hong Gil Dong' aired yesterday and viewers are already talking about Sung Yuri's performance.
Sung Yuri who typically plays cute and feminine roles, plays a completely different role in Hong Gil Dong. In Hong Gil Dong, she plays the role of a tough, boy-like character. The viewers have spoken and it seems to be split down the middle, with half feeling Sung Yuri's not a great fit, while the other half believes she has broken out of her typecast.
In addition, viewers spoke about the drama as a whole, this too was a split decisions with comments such as:
"It's refreshing and new"
"It was so good I couldn't take my eyes off the screen"
"It's awkward and corny"
"It's way too random."
