The reason most of the pediatric dentist rec parents to bring their baby as soon as the first teeth are in is so that they could educate the parents on how to care of their kid's teeth. That visit is more for the parents than for the baby. It is also a visit for the parents to ask all the question they may have regarding teeth development, how to brush and what to watch out for. Like (name removed) mentioned, for a kid to allow you to do any type of check up it won't be until they are around 2 1/2 to 3 years old depending on the kid.
